jasmine

Take a big whiff. Can you smell it? Get a little closer. No? Well how I wish you could. These precious little white blooms have been gracing my backyard for a few weeks now and I am loving the beautiful scent they add to the breeze!

My sweet friend Heather gave me these plants almost two years ago now (I think) and they are really starting to take off on my fence. Thank you Heather!! I have always loved this flowering vine and am so glad to have some on two sides of my backyard. You really can smell it when the breeze picks up and there is nothing like it!

When we lived in CA I had a beautiful mini white rose vine that climbed all over a trellis. It smelled lovely just like this jasmine does. So every now and then I am transported back there and it is a wonderful memory. I really do love to plant things and watch them grow, but I prefer things that, once they are planted and established, don't need much attention except being admired. I can do that in the comfort of a cushy patio chair. :) Are there things you've planted and can sit back and enjoy too. Do tell!

red

I really love this color and God seems to be surrounding me with it lately and I am so thankful. No I didn't wake up one morning seeing that my nails were miraculously painted a pretty red. :) I did that part. Haha! Is it getting older that makes the flowers seem lovelier and the berries sweeter? If so then I don't mind growing older one bit. Today my little lady's blue eyes glow along with her pretty blue sundress. And soon I am off on a walk to see what other lovelies God has waiting for me in this precious day He has made. And to smell all the wonderful smells of flowers blooming through our neighborhood. Back soon with some pretty photos of my delicious smelling jasmine in the back yard. Till then go enjoy something lovely.

a little bit of silly

Man I love these kids and man are they growing up! I love that Karina has so many cousins so close by and I love how much she loves them! These little people were complete entertainment for me the other day when we asked their mommy if they could come over for awhile. They went from the pool to the sand box to the play house and kitchen and really had a great time. And man were they silly as you can clearly see in the two pictures above!

In the sand box they built this masterpiece all by hand. It took them hours! JUST KIDDING! Karina's wonderful Aunt Em brought home a couple really cool sand toys for her from Disney World this last week and we tried out the castle bucket and to our delight it made this! It is the PERFECT way to build a sand castle in a little sand box!!! I love it! And that is from someone who doesn't feel like it has been a trip to the beach unless a sandcastle has been made. :)

Of course they served me while I sat and watched their little minds at play. Not sure what was in this pot but I pretended to eat it and got a big smile every time.

And I did a little bit of this. So you can see what a hard day I had. :)

Hope you all are enjoying some fun sunny days too and taking in all the wonder that our little ones bring!

can't wait

I can't wait to celebrate Mother's Day tomorrow with this sweet little girl that lights up my life. I can't believe it was three and a half years ago now that God made me her mommy and oh what a fun ride it's been! I can't imagine life without her and I want to wake up everyday to her precious voice and smile even in the early hours of the day. :) I hope all you mommy's out there have a terrific day with your little, big, or grown kiddos. Happy Mother's Day!
