Why am I posting about leaves at the end of Feb.? Are you saying doesn't she know it's not Oct. or Nov.? Well we waited. We always wait. Our trees are not done dropping leaves until mid to late Feb. And I really see no point at all in raking before then. So last week this was us almost every day. Jeff came home and did some after work and we, as a family made many wheel barrel trips to the street with all our leaves.

I will say we did have some fun though. The very last picture Karina is crying as she pushes her wheel barrel to the back yard. But you can't see it so it is actually a cute picture. :) I know aren't I mean! It was nap time and that is just what we did after wearing ourselves out. Raking is DEFINITELY exercise!

At least we don't have to shovel snow where we live!

tea time

Anyone else have a hard time saying no to desert? Well we do. And here is our answer. Tea time! My sweet mother in law gave me this amazing box of teas for Christmas and we have been really enjoying a cup of tea together at night instead of going for junk. Our favorite is the mint that is almost gone. I am wanting to try some of the fruity ones as ice tea.
Now this doesn't always work, but I would give us an A for effort. :) I was shocked that Jeff really took to it and is an encouragement to me. Gotta love a guy that encourages me to better myself (to a certain extent of course). Hope everyone has a great night and I am off to make some tea.

Pretty pretty park day!

Valentine's Fun!

Last Friday my sweet sister and her kids came over to have some lunch and cookie making fun with us.

The kids really enjoyed taking their time to make their cookies just right.

I had made some gingerbread dough up awhile back and had some left over from another cookie making time at our house. So it was really nice to just pull that out of the freezer.

The kids helped cut them out, I baked them and they decorated them, but after that they didn't last very long before each kid had taken a bite of theirs. :) I did manage to get some quick pictures before they ate them.

They were so proud of the job they did! Notice my child only wanted to suck down the frosting?

Family love? chokehold style. :)

That's better :)

My sis and I also had some fun decorating once the kids were done and down from the table. She brought the letter cutters to spell out LOVE and I thought it was too cute!

We had such a great time and decided to make this a yearly thing. Actually we were trying to figure out how we could do it every month! :) We just love this gingerbread recipe!! So next month might just be some four leaf clovers. Maybe some crosses for Easter. The letters MOM for mother's day? Oh man we could go nuts! Hope ya'll are havin' some "sweet" times too.

I think so! I love these two boys and am so glad they are in my life!! My brother Jon and his little man Ishen just have my heart! They both melt me everytime I see them and just thought I'd share that! :)

Pink and Red!

Don't these just say valentine? Loving the pink and red combo! I made these up to stick in my shop and I love how they are all coordinated but not matchy matchy. I think I will sit back with a nice hot mug of mint tea and knit some more tonight. But tonight I think it will be a cowl for me that I make. With chunky needles, yeah, that knit things up REALLY fast! It is going to be cold the next few days and a new cowl will be just what I need to comfort my sore throat and keep me cozy too. So happy knitting to all you knitters out there!

Chicken Soup

I really wish I had some of this yummy stuff made up tonight because I am in the mood and not feeling so great. But this is a picture I took a few weeks ago when I made some from scratch for the first time for my hubby who was sick. Oh that he could jump up and do the same when I don't feel so great. But I won't complain since he takes such good care of me in so many other ways. So tonight will be something easy and simple, but I will still be longing for a BIG bowl of this!

Gettin' Crafty!

A few weeks ago now we had a wonderful girl's craft night at our church hosted by a very sweet lady that is very crafty and creative. And let me just say she has the crafty materials!! I guess she almost felt embarrassed that she had so much because she said just that, but it sure did make for a wonderful time of card making fun! And I know that she like the rest of us finds things when they are really good deals.

I have a few stamps in my small collection at home, but I had so much fun using the amazing ones she had! She and I even had the same initials for our first and last name's so I had a ball making some monogrammed cards for myself with her wonderful letter stamps. But there was so much more I would've made had I stayed a little later.

But I am convinced as I hope she was too that we definately need to make this a regular thing that the ladies of our church get together to do. So much of the time we say hi and goodbye at church to people that we would really enjoy spending some time with. So this kind of get together "makes" those times of fellowship that I believe we really need, but sometimes feel bad leaving our families to do.

It really was great seeing all the talent these dear ladies had and how we feed off of each others ideas. What a great picture in something so small of how the body of Christ works. We can truly make some beautiful things when we all work together.

There was ribbon galore! And you won't believe it but I didn't use any! I know shame on me! But like I said another time and I will for sure.

There was even a whole display of Valentine ideas which I should have taken advantage of because the other day in the store while looking at some I was thinking how I could make some that I liked so much better.

And of course what is some girl time without the sweets! I had some of the most amazing cupcakes in the world!! They were chocolate with Kahlua in them!? WOW! They were to good to be true. And then I topped them with a little fudge sauce and a Reece Piece or two! I NEED the recipe! Ok I will rephrase that to I WANT!

But most of all it was just some really sweet and fun fellowship with some great friends that I really am blessed to know and spend time with! God has been so good to allow me the honor of being in these ladies lives and share not only fun times with them, but also have them as sister's in Christ that we may lift each other up and talk about things that really matter. Each one of them are different and so special and I truly think God delights to see us delighting in each other! So I hope you have the time to delight in a dear friend today!

An amazing GOD!

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

By wisdom the LORD laid the earth's foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place;
by his knowledge the deeps were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.

Prov. 3:5-6, 7-8, 19-20

These are some of my favorite passages of scripture and they were in my daily reading of Proverbs today so I thought I would share. I woke up today with the sun and went for a beautiful walk while listening to praise songs. It was a wonderful way to start the day. And as the suns rays hit my face I was so sweetly reminded of how our Father in heaven takes such good care of us to the smallest detail! As the birds sang I thought about how God meets each and every need we have without overlooking one of them. What a gracious and merciful Lord He is. And what a humbling thought that he would think of me. SO if you woke up today praise Him for his great gifts and thank Him even in the midst of your trials. :) You'll be glad you did!
