Happy Birthday Dad!

Today we were so very blessed to celebrate my Dad's birthday with him at a park here in town and it was lovely. He is one of the most wonderful and amazing men I know and will ever know. I have so many reasons to be grateful for him. He has loved me and raised me and taken such good care of me. And not only that but he went above and beyond as a dad and now does the same as a father in law and grandpa. I am so blessed that my little girl can call him her Papou (Greek for grandpa) and experience the love that I grew up knowing through him. So thank you Dad for all you are and all you do. I pray God will continue to bless you greatly and give us many more years together!

Sooooooo proud!!!

Can I shout it from the rooftops,
can I tell you one thing?
My hubby is graduating,
and I just want to sing!
He has worked so hard,
to attain this very goal.
Jeff is soon to be named
an alumni Nole!
So Hooray for we have come to this date,
When it is now time to celebrate!

Jeff finished up his finals this week and is so glad he's done! Well, he will have one more class this summer but that should be a breeze! I had to do something to celebrate on Wed. night when he came home from testing. So I made one of his favorite dinners and also this cookie cake. Then last night we went to a lovely banquet honoring him with an "Outstanding Undergraduate Award" for the highest GPA in his major. WOOOOO HOOOO! Is what this proud wife said. I know all of us wives have these moments when we are just so happy for our husbands and so blessed to share it with them. This was just that for me. It was also just fun to get all dressed up and spend an evening with my man. So here's to Jeff!

I will get some pictures of his graduation next weekend and maybe throw in one from last night too. Stay tuned. :) And have a great weekend!

He lives!

If you're wondering why I didn't post about Easter the truth is I just didn't want to take the time to get on here before now with how busy things have been for me lately. But another reason is simply that I am of the firm belief that the way we celebrate Jesus Christ and His resurrection on "Easter" is something I want to think about, sing about, talk about and LIVE every day of my life. It's not about the clothes we wear, the eggs we hunt, or the great meal we make. Though those things are all gifts to enjoy, but so easy to get wrapped up in.
The words and meaning of all we touch on at church on Easter Sunday are so enriching and encouraging that it NEEDS to be at the forefront of our lives each and every day. I couldn't help but cry through all the songs we sang thinking about how much Jesus Christ loves me and how he showed me that love so perfectly as he hung on the cross to die for all the wrong I have done while I was dead in my sin and even now as a believer in Him. Yet, oh the GREAT HOPE that I have in Him through his resurrection and how He has conquered death.
My view of life and death are so very transformed through the work that Christ has done. He has been there, done that, so that we might live. And not just live but live for HIM! I have been up close and personal with death of late. Not only with our miscarriage and having one so small pass away inside of me recently, but also having seen my aunt pass away so unexpectedly. Death is real, but we need not fear for if Christ is our Lord and Savior He will carry us through where He has already been and take us on to eternity with Him. Oh the peace that flows through me and all those who believe in knowing this.
My ladies bible study was on "peace" this week. How encouraging it is to sit with a group of godly women and hear of how our Lord has given them peace in the midst of their trials and lives and at the same time being able to give testimony of that same peace. To see God at work in such a beautiful way brings His work to life for ALL to see. Praise HIM!!
And so the song that I will hum as I go through the day, His day, will be this:
I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today; I know that He is living whatever men may say; I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer, And just the time I need Him, He's always near.

In all the world around me I see His loving care, And tho' my heart grows weary I never will despair; I know that He is leading thro' all the stormy blast, The day of His appearing will come at last.

Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King! The hope of all who seek Him, the help of all who find, None other is so loving, so good and kind.

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me Along life's narrow way. He lives, He lives, Salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.

Here are a few sweet moments from our family time on "Easter" Sunday.

Karina enjoyed some springtime fun at her Nana's house hunting for eggs and enjoying a most wonderful lunch. Thank you again mom and dad for having us and for loving us all the way you do!

I had to include this last little picture of the girls for two reasons. I thought it was so cute that Karina was sitting "reading" to her sweet cousin the resurrection story book that Nana had given to each of the kids. And also I thought these two couldn't look sweeter in their coordinating shirts that Nana was so sweet to get for them.
So with that I will end this book of a post and hope and pray you all are enjoying precious moments with your family and even more precious moments with the Lord!

Sitting on the dock of the bay.....

....watching the boats and eating Chick-fil-A..... How's that for a song. :) This was earlier this month and after a very rainy Thursday God blessed us with a Friday that looked like this. So Karina and I headed out the door to make a few stops and then grab lunch and head to the marina. Man was it gorgeous and it couldn't have been a sweeter time to just enjoy my little lady and think of how I hope she will want to do this when she is 15 with her mom and still think it's as fun.

Don't ask me why but I love the way these pilings look!

I love the way this boat looks like it has so many stories to tell.

I love how this anchor has held on to many a mighty boat.

And I really love how this little lady just picked a spot and sat to read her little book she got in her kids meal.

I love the look of shrimp boats too. I know I'm weird.

Pelicans are my absolute favorite bird!

Feeling the wind in her face and loving it.

So there it is our day on the bay!

Just some girly fun we had with beads one day. Karina made her necklace all by herself. Can you tell? :) Oh the fun this little girl and I will have in the years to come. She has no idea all the crafty things her mommy wants to teach her!

Cleaning up and putting away for the next fun time of jewelry making!

piggy tails and sunshine

A couple weeks ago now Karina and I went out to the beach with my mom and my brothers two little girls. Oh the fun we had watching these three little ladies enjoy the sand and sunshine. They all looked so sweet in their piggy tails that I couldn't stop snapping pictures. So here ya go and I hope you all are having as much fun in this beautiful weather.

I LOVE this shot of my mom and Indie running. It looks like an ad for the beach.

Of course we had to stroll the shops a little. We were a group of girls ya know. And to top it all off we treated ourselves to some yummy ice cream. The girls enjoyed that just a little.

Be back soon with more fun!

Spring has sprung!

These are the flowers that are gracing me with their presence right now around our house. I got out the other day and had fun just snapping away so I thought I'd share....(oh Nancy the pansy pics are for you! I loved yours too!)

Heather this ones for you! Thanks again for all the gorgeous flowers!

Nancy this one is for you too. Thanks again for the lovely crepe myrtles!!

Another one for Heather. I love this jasmine and it's really taking off now!

Tam this ones for you since you love these little flowers!

And this one is for Emily because she loves the "blood red". Hehehehe!

These last two are for me because I love sitting on my front porch especially in the early morning after my fast walk to just admire the beauty all around me. Love that fresh green against the blue blue sky! Hope you all are enjoying God's design.
