sweet and sad...

This last week my sister in law planned a lovely baby shower for a dear new friend of ours. She did a wonderful job. The food was oh so yummy and we all had a great time. I enjoyed so much helping with the decorations and baking a cake too. The reason this post is titled sweet and sad is because we have been so blessed to get to know this new sweet friend of ours, but she will be moving away from us much too soon! Beth is her name and she is a lovely young Christian woman that I have really enjoyed spending some time with. And it is an extra special treat that we have been able to celebrate her new baby girl, Lucy, with her. So here are some pictures of the party.

I love these plates that my sister in law picked out!!

Some of the decorations I had fun with.

Sweet Beth with all her cute girly gifts.

Had to throw this one in of Beth with the little blanket and hat set I made for little Lucy.

A beautiful mommy adoring her little lady.

Beach days are here again....

Last week we were so blessed to enjoy our first beach day this year with my sister in law and her kids. It was a gorgeous day and I could have stayed out there till the sun set, but we had to get back home for a much needed nap. We will surely be back there soon with how the weather is now though. This picture is one of my favorites from the day. There are many more that I might share later, but I have made many a beach day post with pictures of my sweet Karina so I might just keep those for myself. I hope you all are out and enjoying beautiful spring days too!

Me and my man..

This last Thursday my amazing man and I celebrated our 4th anniversary. I can't begin to say how VERY blessed I am to have him in my life. God has given me such a wonderful gift in just knowing him. He has such a heart for the Lord and cares for me and our family better then I could have ever asked for. I am SOOOOOO in love with him and looking back at our past and thinking of the future only makes me love him more. I truly see Christ love exemplified in him and can say through the good and bad times we have weathered God is only drawing us closer to Him and each other. When I see him with our little girl I am reminded of the love the Father has for His children in a way that is so precious. So thank you Lord for this man, father, friend, sweetheart of mine. May we have many more amazing years together serving the Lord and growing in love!

This is a figurine that I just love that was a gift from my sweet sister in law for our wedding. It really looks like us and is just so simple and precious. So thank you again dear sister!

12 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
13 planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green,
15 proclaiming, "The LORD is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him."
Psalms 92:12-15

fun site!

Hey ya'll I just came across a really fun site with some neat t-shirts with scripture on them. . I am usually not into these kinds of things but these shirts are extra cute and with great verses. I especially like the one "consider it joy". Go take a look if you are interested. They are also having a free giveaway. Hope you all are having a great day and a blessed weekend!

Sundays scenery

This was last Sunday when we packed up a picnic dinner and went out to enjoy God's gorgeous scenery. This is right behind the college Jeff is attending and about to graduate from. I am so proud of him and the hard work he has put forth to work full time, go to school and have plenty of time for his family too. I know God is going to do great things with him and am so blessed to part if that adventure!

Coulda woulda....

A couple weekends ago we went to a pretty park by the bay and got some really pretty pictures. Many of them didn't have people in them, because this was one of our attempts to get some cool shots of Karina. We did get a few good ones of her but these are more fun to show.

This one is titled, "get me off this tree!"
What a pout!

Making friends with the bugs.

While looking at these again it made me think of how quick we are to want to move and get out of circumstances in which we find ourselves that seem to be unpleasant. But in looking a little closer and taking the time to see what we can learn from what is around us we would find God is showing us a beauty in the details.

Ok so that's my insight for the day. Hope you all had a great one. We did and we praise Him for it!

Chocolate strawberries

I know that title is funny for this post, but the combo of these colors reminds me of that. I love the rich chocolate brown with the bright pink of a strawberries middle. So I had to make me a hat with these yummy yarns. And soon I will be starting a baby blanket for a dear friend with these very same colors! YUM!

Packing a treat!

This is a wonderful little package I was able to put together for a friend of mine in Uganda. She was here a few months ago and I gave her a little knitting lesson. She helps run a pregnancy home there where she lives and was hoping to return home and teach the girls there how to knit as well. So when I heard a group from our church was headed to Uganda last month, I, with the very generous help of all the ladies in my bible study at church, bought and put together a lovely stash of yarn and needles to send to them. It was so much fun to do this knowing that she doesn't have a Walmart down the street to run to get these things.

I have heard since then that all the girls loved learning and now it is all they want to do. Also one of the gals in the team that went came home and was so excited about learning too she had to go and buy yarn and needles and get started right away. How I love getting people excited about this wonderful craft!! Karina and I threw in the little bear for my friends little daughter too. :)

This is a yummy treat we decided to make the other day. Karina got really into it as you can see and yes I waited till we were done with coating the pretzels before I let her lick the brush. We had a great time and even more fun eating them! We kept some and gave some away.

OK now back to the exercising post I just wrote..... hehehehehe.

The weekend before last we were so very blessed to go and celebrate with Jeff's grandparents their 69th wedding anniversary and his grandmommy's 90th birthday. The word beautiful describes the life and legacy of these two wonderful people. Their love for the Lord and for each other is so very inspiring and I praise God that I have been able to be a part of their great family.

Need motivation?

Karina was so ready to do a little exercising with her daddy the other night when he was warming up for a basketball game. If I could only be that excited about exercise.

Guess I need to wake up and look at these pictures when I want to be lazy but need to go walking. :) I'm ok if I can get out the door. Then I actually enjoy it and love the cool air in my face and birds chirping as if they are congratulating me for being up and about with them!

comfy cozy!

This is my first try at a neck warmer or cowl. Tammy's was my second. Had to do a test run. And I'm happy to say that I'm not embarrassed to wear it in public. :) They are really fun to knit and so quick compared to a scarf! I also love that I was able to use some antique buttons given to me by Jeff's grandmother. They add a little sparkle and it warms my heart and my neck at the same time.

A close up of the lovely buttons. Oh and Nancy I just made up another one with these colors if you are still interested in one. We just got a lovely cold front here so ya'll stay warm wherever you are.
