Praise the Lord!

Psalm 139
1 You have searched me, LORD, and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,"
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, [a] God! How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.
19 If only you, God, would slay the wicked! Away from me, you who are bloodthirsty!
20 They speak of you with evil intent; your adversaries misuse your name.
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, LORD, and abhor those who are in rebellion against you?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies.
23 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Father's Day fun!

Well we had a wonderful Father's day last Sunday. It was Jeff's second to celebrate with his daughter that is almost two. And I will take a moment to say that he is a wonderful Daddy. The way he cares for our little girl blesses my heart more then I can say. He is so gentle and protective and through Him I get a glimpse of our Father's love towards us. I also love his eagerness to have more children and to know how excited he will be if God decides to bless us with more. So thank you hunny for all you do for our daughter and for just being you!
We were blessed to be able to spend it with Jeff's mom and dad and his brother. We had a great time and yummy food. As you can see Karina was more excited about the cake then anything.

Anyone for a Father's Day cupcake? Karina says meeeeeee!!

These flowers are something I had to take a picture of to show you what a wonderful dad I have. A couple weeks ago now he took me on a date. Not just any date though. First he brought flowers to my house, then he took me to one of my favorite restaurants ever that not only has AMAZING food but also live entertainment ( an incredible piano player that I could listen to all night long and almost did ). So we had our great meal. Then he bought desert and coffee to top it all off as we sat and had a chat and listened to the lovely music. My dad is a detail person, can you tell? But these aren't all the reasons I love him. I love the man of God he is, I love that he has always taken time to spend with his kids and now his grand kids. I love that even though he never knew his dad he is the most amazing one I know. So thank you Dad if you happen to read this and know how much I love you!!
These next two pictures are a couple of baby gifts that I thought would be fun to show. The two couples that I gave them too are family. My cousin Jamie and his wife Bridget received the first for their little boy born this week. So a late Happy Father's Day to you. And the second is for Jamie's sister Jackie and her husbands little boy who is due in a couple weeks. So congrats to the new Daddy's and Mommy's! We are so happy for you all!!!

I hope everyone had a great Father's Day and that you have a great weekend too!

All in the details...

Well everyone, here is my final post on our vacation in S.C. I thought it would be fun to show some of the coastal touches this great beach house had. So I took pictures of the details that stood out to me. Reminds me of something in a Coastal Living magazine. It really was a great home away from home. And I am so very grateful to the dear people that allowed us to use it while visiting Kristi's family. This house could tell so many stories I am sure from the games played on the living room floor to the many nights swinging on the front porch swing. Not to mention the countless little sandy feet trudging through the house looking for things to do after a long day at the beach. SO here we go....

love this big red chair by the window

Some of those tiny feet I was referring to. :) Hope you all enjoyed seeing all our fun at the beach. I pray that you all will enjoy great times with your own friends and family this summer too and praise God for all the great blessings he has given us! If you are able, take in the beauty of the beach. There is nothing quite like it.

Back at the beach!

This was our last day at the beach in S.C. so Karina got a great idea to set up a nice little spot to enjoy the view for just a little longer...

This is my crazy little beach girl on a very cool night sitting happy as can be eating her ice cream. No she didn't eat two cups full I promise. But she sure didn't want to leave the beach that night. So we told the others we'd be back in a bit and just had some sweet mommy and daughter time to ourselves. Then it was back to the house for a warm bath and a cozy bed.

Here are just some scenic shots that I love to take.

I have one more post to finish out our vacation so I will be on again soon. Hope you all have enjoyed these so far and that you are able to enjoy your own little or long vacation this summer as well. Whether you can go to the beach, take a long walk down a quiet road, or simply sit on your porch and listen to the birds. Do get out into this great world the Lord has made for us and see His beauty and majesty all around you and give Him praise!!

Charming Charleston: part 3....

Well I am back for the second time tonight. I figured I would go ahead and finish up with these posts of Charleston. So, while the kids took a much needed nap in the car Emily and I went ahead and drove around the rest of the town that I hadn't seen. The main street was really neat. I would've loved to stroll the shops and pop in a few but it would not have been worth it to drag the kids out anywhere else that day. They had been such troopers. So we had a really nice little drive while Em gave me the rest of the tour...

Hope you all have enjoyed my quickie version of a tour through Charleston and if you ever have the time to stay there a while I do believe it would be worth it!

NEXT: More from the beach...

Charming Charleston: part 2....

This is going to be another short post. We had a really nice day today but I am tired. So this is the carriage ride we took in downtown Charleston. It was a nice relaxing ride through all the old homes of which I took way to many pictures so I will not bore you with all of those. Here are a few of my favorite from our little ride.

Karina was patiently waiting our turn to climb onto a carriage. She thought the horses were great and waved to quite a few people while we rode. I didn't get any really good pictures of her while we were riding because she was sitting in my lap almost the whole time.

Can I say how much I love this little man! He was so cute on our ride and is just at such a fun age. I can't wait to have a little boy, Lord willing, whenever I spend time with him. He always gets me so excited to see what Karina will be talking about and doing at his age.

This sweet little lady kept her precious mama oh so busy. She wanted to see everything and had a bit of a hard time sitting still. But how could we blame her since there was just so much to see. I love this picture of her. I should nick name her cupcake since I am always saying that I could eat her up!

Only one of the many lovely houses we saw on our ride. Amazing but I sure wouldn't want to clean it!

And here is our fun little crew after our tour was done. Many thanks again to my dear sister in law Em who made my trip to Charleston such a fun and memorable one!! I so enjoyed my time with you sweet sis! More to come soon....

Charming Charleston: part 1....

I am going to break up these pictures into three post so that I am not on here all night trying to tell you how great Charleston was to visit and have you see every picture I took especially since I am getting a late start. So here are some of the ones I captured on Saturday when we went to the Farmer's Market. It was great and I was wishing I had a hundred bucks to blow while just walking the booths. But I didn't and we still had a great time. I did buy some peach chutney that I have yet to try. (I'm thinking about mixing some into some cream cheese to top some crackers for a delicious treat one day) It was a gorgeous day as you can see...

After we strolled the booths a little we found a nice spot under a lovely shade tree to set up with the gang. Kristi's sweet husband Eric treated us to some yummy pretzel dogs and fresh made donuts. YUM!

Then we let the kids roam a bit and of course my little girl would find the nearest dog to pay a visit. She sure is becoming quite the animal lover and is so sweet to them as she says hello.

This great open space was such a nice place to run and play. I really enjoyed just watching as Karina explored all around her.

I think by the time this picture was taken she was plum worn out, but Em and I still had big plans for the rest of the day. There was still so much to see and so we headed out while Kristi's family headed home. Our next stop would be the Market and a relaxing carriage ride through the streets of old homes.

So come back soon for more from Charleston...
